Our HOU Weekend in Photos
But first a little intro....Expand if you wish.
We have been looking forward to this weekend getaway since May. My husband's cousin's wife is expecting a baby so we planned to visit them before the baby's due date. Since they don't have much family around, they decided to have their Baby Shower on the weekend we were going. That made it extra special. And since we love domestic trips, we decided to pack our schedule to make the most out of it.
My husband has been wanting a sombrero for the longest. We went to Cavender's Boot City and made his wish come true. For lunch, we stopped by Pappas Bar-B-Q and shared a Beef Trio. Then, we visited Saint Arnold's Brewery. I love this spot. It was part of my itinerary for my bachelorette trip a couple years ago and I knew I wanted to bring my boo with me next time. We were tempted to call it a day early but pushed ourselves to keep exploring. "We can sleep when we get back home," I kept repeating. So, we got last minute tickets to see a Selena "Queen of Tejano music" Tribute at The Post. It was a chill event -- the perfect way to end our first day.
The next day was the baby shower so we spent the entire day with family. It was very special. On our last full day, we decided to visit the Houston Zoo. It was SOOOO much fun. I wish we could've explored even more and stretched a day out of it. However, we had a concert to attend.
That evening we went to see La Bichota Tropicoqueta in concert. It was a lot exhilirating and it was packed. I hadn't been to a concert in a really long time. We had nosebleeds seats but that was perfectly fine with me. I enjoyed it. We spent most of the following day traveling but were really happy to be back home.
Another trip in the books, one I hope to always remember. Some moments captured (below), and others simply cherished.
