What Was I Thinking?♡

Behind the scenes

An August Recap

I realize I haven't been here as much. This month felt convenient to take a break from writing and I noticed I started doing a lot more. For the most part, sports continued. The summer soccer season has ended now but I plan to sign up for the fall season starting in a couple of weeks. I'm still playing pickleball, too.

We've attended a lot of family events this month: BBQs, a wedding, and birthdays. We also went to the eye doctor and got new glasses. Well I got new lenses. We ordered more online so we're actually still waiting for those to arrive. I met up with a bunch of friends....maybe too many in one month because my social battery = drained. I also caught my first fish on a spontanous evening out fishing -- which btw my husband owes me my BassProShops sweater now! ;)

Three Amazing Dates

State Fair: We went to the state fair about 45 minutes from our house. I thought we were going to miss it this year because we had plans on the weekend it was here. We instead went on a random weekday evening. It was hands down one of our favorite experiences ever! Certainy one of my favorite things we've done up by where we live (even though it was closer to an hour away lol)! The agricultural component was just amazing. I'll never get over it. We'll be returning every year!

Kayaking: This was part of my summer wishlist and I'm so glad we got to it. Even though I was complaining because we got caught by the rain and felt like I was doing most of the rowing, it was a lot of fun. I even caught my second fish ever! My husband also caught a fish.

New restaurant & bowling: I surprised my husband by planning a date night to a restaurant we've both been wanting to try for some time. Then we went bowling, shared a pitcher of IPA, and reminisced on our early beginnings and how far we've gotten (always my favorite)!

We also attended a Leadership Conference for church which was very insightful. We left feeling inspired and eager to continue serving our church and our communities. I participated in my third puzzle contest and I've been slowly working on my 1,000pcs mt fuji puzzle.

We've decided to outsource our home cleaning so we've been searching for someone to work with, and we finally have something scheduled for Friday. Let's see how it goes. Work has been fine, I've been keeping up. I got my KVM this month!!! I was sooo excited and I also ordered a dual monitor stand to open up some more space on my desk. Lots of exciting things happening behind the scenes. Let's see what September has in store; hopefully back to more writing.
